30% increase in pilgrim traffic
Saudi Airline announced the end of the Hajj season, having transferred approximately 1.3 million passengers throughout the pilgrimage season, a 30% year-on-year increase. The airline’s market share also increased 36% according to press statement issued by the airline on 14 of October 2018
Prior to 2018 hajj, Saudi Arabian airlines had target targets transporting more than 1.1 million pilgrims as reported by Arab News
“Saudi Arabian Airlines, Saudia, continues to successfully implement the Hajj operational plan, which targets transporting more than 1.1 million pilgrims from different countries during the arrival and return stages. Saudia also announced by then that 1,457 Hajj flights are set to transport pilgrims during the arrival and return stages.
