The Chairman of national hajj commission NAHCON, has charge the leadership of Kano state Muslim pilgrims welfare boards to professionalize and departmentalization hajj administration to maintain their leading role in hajj administration at the state level.
He made the call yesterday when he visited Kano state hajj officials in Makkah. “Hajj administration works should be carried out based on know-how.
“Lets Ulamas handle the spiritual aspects, accountants and financial experts should be allowed to treat the money aspect and Journalists focus on their information dissemination task. By this way, hajj administration will be run based on capacity.
In his reaction, the Executive Secretary of Kano State pilgrims board, Alh Abbah Dambatta commended NAHCON Chairman for selecting Kano state as one of the state to visit for interaction and said that “His Excellency, Gov Ganduje had graciously approved the training of five state pilgrims board staff on IATA certification course.”
In his closing remarks, The Chairman of Kano state pilgrims boards, Alh Abbah Koki praised NAHCON Chairman for his undying quest for the betterment of hajj and Umrah operation in Nigeria.
He recalled how Mr. Abdullahi who was then NAHCON commissioner in charge of operations, always insisted on inclusion of facilities like fridge, Television, good bedding in pilgrims accommodation and urges him to continue in such stead.
Alh Abba also expressed his worry over activities of some Tour Operators who are in habit of abandoning their pilgrims in the Holly land after hajj. “A situation where a tour operator will come with 500 pilgrims and return with only 50 thereby leaving the states pilgrims boards to shoulder the responsibility of housing them is unacceptable. He therefore called on NAHCON to take a drastic measure and sanction such Tour operators.
